- I really dont think getting a GED or a high school diploma is too much to ask. Maybe the lack of a diploma is what keeps them from getting hired in the first place so it could contribute to their getting hired.

- I noticed that at Kmart - there are usually 9 registers but only 2 cashiers and that is at ANY TIME of year. One of the last times I shopped at Kmart there was a mentally handicapped person at the register during the holidays and a long line.

- Rest assured, I shop anywhere that gives me what I want at the price I am willing to pay. There is no Ralph Lauren at Walmart but there is milk or paper towels at Macys either. I shop at Walmart and anywhere else too. They are not mutually exclusive.

- Believe it or not there are MILLIONS of things that Walmart DOESNT sell! We have two Walmarts 5 miles apart (and another 3 or 5 within 20 miles) and our Targets, Home Depots, TJMaxxs, Marshalls, Home Goods, and World Markets are doing just fine.

- I COULDNT buy a TV at Sears...the sales clerks wouldnt help me! They ran up the to MEN though. I guess someone in management told them that women dont buy electronics.

- I worked for Sears in high school and there was always some screwing with my paycheck - didnt always get commissions, incorrect hours, math that didnt add up (8 hours time $6 is $48 before taxes not $30; after taxes it was more like $22) etc - and we had to clean AFTER the store closed …

- Anyone who considers Sears and Macys rivals have clearly NEVER shopped at Macys!!! Macys is clean, classy, and high quality and focussed on a much higher income clientelle. There is no Ralph Lauren or Ann Klein at Sears. There is no crystal or Lenox china at Sears either.

- Forgive me for being harsh but Walmart is a huge employer. Close a Walmart and those employees are NOT likely to trade stocks or argue cases before the Supreme Court.

- Dont blame China blame ME! I want what I want and at the price I want but Sears and Kmart seldom if ever had the selection, quality, or prices I demanded so I went elsewhere. Their grungy stores, rain checks on advertised items, and bait and switch prices were just nails in the coffin.
